Contrast this with a typical applications development system such as FoxPro, Oracle, or Sybase, where each application is developed independently and has its own interface built from the ground up. Each time a new application is introduced to the user, he or she must be trained in the interface as well as the application itself. The reduction in training costs alone can, over time, pay for the initial expense of Notes.
